Unhealthy Skincare Advice That Can Damage Your Skin If You Don’t Avoid Practicing Them

Implementing unhealthy skincare advice is just one of the few ways to have a terrible experience with your skincare journey.

As a skincare devotee, you should be able to identify unhealthy skincare advice when you come across them. Knowing them will go a long way to help you avoid carrying out practices that can only worsen or damage your skin.

The goal of curating a skincare routine is to help you ensure your skin is always in good shape & glowing. But this can be the opposite if you consciously/unconsciously carry out unhealthy skincare advice on your skin.

Unhealthy skincare advice can frustrate your effort to achieve glowing skin, and so in this piece, we will discuss some skincare advice that can worsen your skin and make your skincare journey ineffective.

What is the unhealthy skincare advice you should avoid?

To stop making it difficult to get your skin to glow and stay healthy, here are some of the unhealthy skincare advice you should be aware of as a skincare lover and they are;

1. Rubbing your scrub/exfoliator harder doesn’t make it better or more effective. This means you should stop believing that the harder you scrub/exfoliate, the better. You might even injure your skin in the process. With how delicate the skin can be, you should be gentle on it.

2. Believing that it is normal for a skincare product to burn or tingle your skin is unhealthy skincare advice you should never accept because no good product should burn or tingle your skin for any reason. Constantly getting a burning/tingling effect on your skin after applying a product can damage your skin.

3. Popping your pimples makes them heal faster: This is a blatant lie that you should also stop believing. Popping your pimples doesn’t fasten their healing process. Instead, doing so would only make them worse or even spread to unaffected areas in some cases.

4. Do not wait until you are up to 40 to start applying SPFs or any other anti-ageing product that can help you overcome premature ageing or eliminate ageing signs such as wrinkles, fine lines etc. No matter your age, it is essential to include SPFs as your must-have skincare products and stick to applying them consistently.

5. Thinking acne exclusively affects teenagers and will disappear once you have passed your teenage stage: This isn’t true because once you don’t put in the effort to take care of your skin, you will expose it to skin concerns like acne. So, whether you are a teenager or an adult, acne can affect you if you don’t do the needful.

6. Applying & rubbing alcohol on your skin with the intention for it to help you get rid of or kill your acne is such terrible advice. Alcohol is the last thing you should use to treat acne, and you should never use it. To treat acne, you should adapt to using quality skincare products & processes such as cleansing, moisturizing & exfoliating to help you treat them.

These are the few unhealthy skincare advice that can damage your skin if you continue to practice them. So, to help your skin appear healthy and nourishing, you should avoid or stop taking the advice.

And again, at Nashé Beauty, we have quality & skin-friendly skincare products that will help you practice excellent skincare advice and avoid the bad ones.
